- 1 Start the microphone and pick how many lugs your drum has.
- 2 Strike the head a couple inches in from each lug. DrumPitch reads the resonant pitch at that spot and drops it on the lug ring.
- 3 Tighten or loosen the lugs that read sharp or flat until the whole ring evens out. The head is now in tune with itself.
Tip: mute the bottom (resonant) head while you tune the batter so the reading stays clean. Detection works best on toms and snares; very low kicks are harder for any mic-based tuner.

Does my audio get uploaded?
No. All pitch detection runs in your browser. The mic feed never leaves your device.
Do I need a quiet room?
Quieter is better. Background noise and other drums ringing can throw off any mic-based tuner, so mute what you are not tuning.
Is the Pro unlock a subscription?
No. It is a single $9 payment that unlocks the Pro features for good.
